Salmon Netting on the Tweed – Exhibition in Norham Church

A pop-up exhibition about the tradition of Salmon netting on the River Tweed. The story of the net fishing, a centuries old tradition, which has all but disappeared from the Tweed, is narrated through old photographs and a short film shown in the beautiful old parish church dedicated to St. Cuthbert.

Union Chain Bridge

Visit the Union Chain Bridge, which was built in 1820, the oldest suspension bridge of its type still to carry vehicles. Cycle, walk or drive across it, stop to admire the view and wonder at the amazing structure. There will be members of the Friends of the Union Chain Bridge on hand to tell visitors about the bridge and its designer, Captain Samuel Brown RN. Refreshments available all day at the Chain Bridge Honey Farm nearby.
