Bridge Street, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, TD15 1AQ

This event begins on Friday 10th September 2021

Bridge Street Revealed highlights one of Berwick's oldest streets, which hosts a thriving community of varied small businesses. Window posters and online information explore aspects of the street's history, buildings and culture.

Bridge Street has a fascinating history - close to the Quayside and the main thoroughfare for many centuries. Until 1928, it formed part of the main road in and out of Berwick heading to Edinburgh and London. Now it is a much quieter but vibrant street. Find out who lived and worked there in the past. We've been researching its architecture and residents. Take a walk along the street and see information in the windows about the businesses in the past. Linked events include a fun quiz and a talk on the early history of the riverside area.
