Discover the dark side of Berwick’s history. What crimes took place in the town during the 18th and 19th centuries? Be judge and jury on historic criminal cases and experience life in an early 19th century jail.
Uncover cases documented in the local archives and visit a jail constructed in the mid 18th century before going on a short walk to locations connected with ºlocal crimes. Come along and find out more about how the town meted out justice in the past and its consequences. This is Berwick’s first “New Wave” event created by young people for young people. But don’t let that put you off, Berwick’s history is for everyone, whatever your age.

The prison area is upstairs. After the prison visit, the walk is downhill.
